The Final Call for Papers

The 14th International Symposium on Human Capital and Labor Markets

Celebrating Release of the China Human Capital Report 2022

China Center for Human Capital and Labor Market Research (CHLR)

Central University of Finance and Economics

December 16-17, 2022
Beijing, China

The conference will mark the release of the 14th annual China Human Capital Report-2022. It will feature distinguished keynote speeches, plenary and parallel sessions on critical topics related to human capital and labor markets on December 17 preceded by an onsite reception on December 16 if the situation permits. The meeting will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual event.

This year’s conference is a tribute to honor Harvard University Professor Dale W. Jorgenson (https://scholar.harvard.edu/jorgenson/home). Professor Jorgenson co-founded Jorgenson-Fraumeni life-time income approach to human capital measurement. This approach has been used by the OECD, World Bank, and in estimating China human capital stock for the China Human Capital Report series. Professor Jorgenson provided strong support to the China human capital measurement research project since 2009.  He also served as a member in the Advisory Board of the CHLR.

Keynote Speaker:

Professor David Autor (Ford Professor of Economics, MIT)

Professor David Autor is a Ford Professor of Economics at MIT, Vice President of the American Economic Association, and Co-Director of the NBER Labor Studies Program. His scholarship explores the labor-market impacts of technological change and globalization on job polarization, skill demands, earnings levels and inequality, and electoral outcomes. He has received numerous awards for both his scholarship—the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship, the Sherwin Rosen Prize for outstanding contributions in the field of Labor Economics, the Andrew Carnegie Fellowship—and for his teaching, including the MIT MacVicar Faculty Fellowship.
