Subject to budget approval, the China Center
for Human Capital and Labor Market Research at the Central University of Finance
and Economics, Beijing, China, wishes to hire up to 3 full-time faculty members
with rank open. The Center invites applicants with research in a broad area
related to studies in human capital and labor markets, including demand for and
supply of skills, wages, education, training, mobility, productivity, health,
and social safety net. Besides teaching graduate courses, faculty members are
also expected to advise graduate students and participate in committee work. The
compensation package is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Other
benefits include research fund and housing subsidy. Contracts will normally
start in fall 2011 but may begin as early as spring 2011.
Chinese language is not a requirement and we

The China Center for Human Capital and Labor
Market Research at the Central University of Finance and Economics was
established in March 2008. It is an international research center for the study
of human capital, labor markets, and their impact on economic development. The
Center conducts research and provides graduate education leading to Master and
Ph.D. degrees. English is the language of instruction in the program.
The Center currently has 9 full-time and
special-term faculty members, 9 special-term research fellows, nearly 50 master,
doctoral and post-doctoral students, and 2 supporting staff members. All current
faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees from U.S. universities. The Center is on the
main campus of CUFE, which is centrally located in Beijing and close to a large
number of other major institutions of higher education and research academies.
